The concert is split in three groupings; Ella and Oscar with Ray Brown and J.C. Heard on the first seven tracks, then Lester Young performing his famous tune “Lester Leaps In” with Oscar and his rhythm section plus Charlie Shavers on trumpet. The remaining five tracks feature Oscar’s famous trio with bassist Ray Brown and guitarist Barney Kessel.

Recorded in Lausanne for Swiss Radio, this historic concert features an all-star line-up of musician who were in effect a “jam-band“ of the highest order. The repertoire is from Goodman’s popular orchestra period and includes such hits as After You’ve Gone, Airmail Special, Stompin At The Savoy, and many others. A key point of interest is the appearance of saxophonist Zoot Sims and trumpeter Roy Eldridge. Previously unreleased, this is a “must-have“ recording for all fans of Swing and Benny Goodman.

Rare live performances (2004) from legendary Texas bluesman Jimmie ‘T99’ Nelson. A blues singer in the tradition of Big Joe Turner, Jimmy cut some of the greatest sides in the history of rock and roll or, as it was known in those days, rhythm and blues. Two of his tunes were substantial hits: "T99 Blues" and "Meet Me With Your Black Dress On," both of which are featured on this album.
