The new label from Michael Storrs Music launches with Stolen Notes, an innovative collection of arrangements of from Verdi’s best-loved operas. Musical notes are “stolen” from the composer’s grand stage versions and placed in more intimate settings, similar to those which would have been enjoyed by amateur singers and instrumentalists during Verdi’s lifetime. The Parma Opera Ensemble, a group of 10 musicians, re-creates this19th-century tradition, with a line-up of young stars from MSM’s stable of singers.
