No: CD80675 Release Date: 24 September Irish pianist John O’Conor is a first-rate Beethoven interpreter, and a direct descendant of the Beethoven legacy (he can trace his teacher, his teacher’s teacher, etc., all the way back to Beethoven himself). He has recorded the complete Beethoven sonata cycle on Telarc (released in a boxed set in 1994), and now focuses his world renowned talents on the concertos with the help of Andreas Delfs and the London Symphony Orchestra. This recording of Beethoven Concertos Nos. 2 and 5 was recorded In January 2007, and he will complete the cycle in 2008. Other CDs John O’Conor has recorded for Telarc include Mozart Concertos and the piano music of Schubert, John Field and others. His recording of the Field Nocturnes has brought him great renown and CD Review described his box set of the complete Beethoven Sonatas as "piano recording of the highest calibre and Beethoven playing at its best".
